  17. REPLINI will RESTART the Workplace shell. Make sure all applications are
  18. closed before using REPLINI.

  22. NOTES on REPLINI version 0.9:
  23.

  25. REPLINI (ReplaceIni) will replace the OS2.INI and OS2SYS.INI with a copy
  26. (made by 'COPYINI'?) of these files from another location.
  27. The reason for this program is that it is rather cumbersome to replace the
  28. current active ini-files when the workplace shell has these two files in
  29. use.

  32. REPLINI will replace both ini's by restarting the workplace shell two times:
  33.  
  34. The first time the workplace shell will be restarted to use the new version
  35. of the ini's at the specified location.
  36.  
  37. Then REPLINI will rename the original ini files to save versions. Their
  38. names will be OS2.nnn and OS2SYS.nnn where 'nnn' will be the first number
  39. that produces non-existing file names.
  40.  
  41. Then REPLINI will copy the new ini's from the specified directory to the
  42. directory where the original ini's were located.
  43.  
  44. Finally, REPLINI will restart the workplace shell to use the copied
  45. ini files.
  46.  
  47. The whole process should take no more than a few seconds.

  50. When one of the steps described above fails, REPLINI will try to restore
  51. all changes!

  54. FIRST TIME USAGE:
  55.  
  56. Make sure you have a saved copy of your ini files. Should REPLINI fail
  57. press RESET (C-A-D), boot from a boot disk and restore your saved copy of
  58. the ini files.

  61. KNOWN LIMITATIONS:
  62.  
  63. -  Objects from 'startup' folders will not restart when using REPLINI.
  64.  
  65. -  Occasionally, a protection violation was seen in the WPCLSLST.DLL from
  66.    the OS/2 TOOLKIT.
  67.    When 'Close the application' was chosen in the protection violation
  68.    prompt, the workplace shell restarted normally.
  69.  
  70. -  After REPLINI has been used on the March '93 BETA of OS/2 2.1
  71.    (Release level 6.489) Shutdown no longer works. Use Ctrl-Alt-Del
  72.    to reboot.
